Good News – there really is some!

Lots of Good News regarding The Word for Today!

All The Word for Today copies are (with the exception of Timor-Leste) through customs and in the process of being distributed to readers in each Pacific nation.

Already we’ve heard some exciting feedback. Julie, who has been handling the distribution in Papua New Guinea, wrote “I was visiting my son in Brandi Secondary last week and heard a teacher reading from The Word for Today to her class” I stop and was in tears and felt God’s presence all over me. We were given a chq of 1000 kina from Bob Spence Technical High School for getting 2 boxes of The Word for Today last week Friday. The monies are coming in. God gets the Glory. Amen.”

The 1,000 copies bound for Timor-Leste are still fighting their way through a legal black hole as we try to get them from Jakarta to Dili – your prayers are definitely appreciated.

New Websites

Many of our partner projects don’t yet have their own website and the email addresses their team use are often the personal ones eg [email protected] So, having invested quite a bit of time last year rebuilding UCB PNG’s website, we used it as a template for creating a new website with updated words and pictures for another of UCB’s partner ministries.

So www.laiffm.org (Papua New Guinea) was cloned, first for www.laeffm.org (Vanuatu) and then again for www.radiovozfm.com (Timor-Leste)

While there is still a lot of work to do it is great to be able to opportunity for people to read The Word for Today online, check the programme guide and find out more about UCB’s ministry anytime, anywhere.  We are now training up local team members to look after their own website so they can keep it up-to-date and add the features they want.

No Travel

With travel bans in place for nearly every nation of the world our Brisbane based team are grounded. Video conferencing will enable a lot of our ministry work to continue to push ahead but the travel ban will impact many of our plans for 2020.

Encouragement

In Isaiah 46:8-13 NIV we read these encouraging words

Remember this, keep it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels.
Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’
From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfil my purpose.
What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.
Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are now far from my righteousness.
I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away;
and my salvation will not be delayed.
I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendour to Israel.
