A Workplace of Encouragement

Jun 29, 2022

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once said…

“Correction does much, but encouragement does more.”

So how do we build a workplace of encouragement?

Over a three year work study done with over 75,000 working adults an amazing outcome was discovered –

“An employee’s job satisfaction depends as much on the positive working environment as it does on what the employee BRINGS to the workplace each day”

Whether we love our job or hate going to work, everyday depends a lot on who WE are and what WE bring to the work environment.

Matthew 22:36 says  “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and most important command. And the second command is like the first: ‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself.’

It has been said that one word of encouragement in the times of failure is worth more than one hour of praise or compliment after success.

I once calculated how much time, on average we spend at work. Well from age 18 to retirement we spend a staggering 72,500 hours or 4.5 million minutes. Over a third of our life is geared towards work. If work is a drag… it certainly is going to be a long one.

Why not get Jesus’ perspective and heart with it. With his help it is easy to change the way we see things and the way we do things.
