No Weapon!

No weapon - imageLindsay is a good friend of our ministry who works at Rhema Media in NZ. She sent the message below to all Rhema’s Prayer supporters.  We thought you too would be blessed by what she had to say…

In September, I had the privilege of attending the Sistas women’s conference. It was lovely to be back in a large group environment, especially seeing women chatting and laughing together, after two and a half years of various degrees of social isolation. I caught up with friends I haven’t seen in a long time.

And the talk sessions were so encouraging! One speaker, Ps Jemima Varughese, senior leader at Kingdomcity Church, shared a thought that has stuck with me since: ‘No weapon!’ I even purchased a bracelet at the merchandise store after the session, with ‘No weapon’ etched on it.

‘“No weapon that has been made to be used against you will succeed. You will have an answer for anyone who accuses you. This is the inheritance of the Lord’s servants. Their victory comes from me,” declares the Lord.’ – Isaiah 54:17 GWT

Jemima Varughese’s message, paraphrased by me: ‘Weapons WILL be formed against us, but they WILL NOT succeed because that is our inheritance as believers.’

Her message was that, when weapons are formed and trouble comes our way, we can claim ‘No weapon!’ up front, thus declaring that our troubles are in God’s hands. It is not denying that we have trouble, rather acknowledging that our trouble can be overcome by a loving and victorious Saviour and Father.

Rhema Media’s purpose statement is ‘to draw New Zealanders into an increasingly meaningful, personal relationship with Jesus Christ’ through media. And part of that growing relationship includes learning to believe what Jesus said just before his crucifixion: ’I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.’

Thanks for your prayers. They help to show people… that no weapon formed against them will prosper when they trust in Jesus.
