Interview Questions

There are hundreds of websites available with suggested Interview questions. And many are very good, but you can’t ask hundreds of questions.  The best advice I can give is to ask the candidate to give a specific example of how they did something.

This is a very good interview technique because the best indicator of future performance is actually past performance.  So questions like “Tell me about a time when you had to deal with conflict in your work place. What did you do? how did it work out? What did you learn from this experience?”

Anyone can repeat back to you great ‘theoretical’ ways, (or ways they read in a book) to handle a given situation. That might be the right answer, but what you want to know is how will they actually handle that type of situation. And for that you can’t beat an actual example from their past.

So figure out what you want to know from the candidate, then ask a question about it that starts with “Tell me about a time when you…”

Time Sheet

Time Sheet

Here is a Google Sheets document that you can adapt to use with each staff member as a weekly time sheet to record their work hours.

Click on this link – or on the image.

In the top left menu chose File and select Make a Copy and then add in your staff member’s name and the email address you want the Time Sheet sent to each week. These are in RED in the document.

Using Make a Copy make a new Time Sheet for each staff member and send them their link using the SHARE button in the top Right hand corner.

Advise your staff to follow the Instructions at the bottom of the Timesheet. When they send you their Timesheet at the end of each week it will be sent through as a PDF (File > Email > Email this File)

You can also put your own logo up the top.
