不要害怕问自己错失了什么,什么是自己不明白的。有些人很悲观,自寻烦恼,却不去寻求任何好事;另一些人倾向于认为所有一切尽皆美好。两种思想都有可能给你造成伤害。《我们曾经拥有一切》(直译于All That Was Ever Ours)一书的作者伊莉沙白·艾略特(Elisabeth Elliot)指出:“所有概括性的说法都是错误的——包括这一说法,但是我们一直在一概而论。我们创造形象,刻板的形象。我们根据人、产品、节目和宣传单的标识来决定拒绝或接受他们。我们对某些事情知之甚少,却装作诸事通达。”你要学会辨别!根据所知的事情很容易做出决定,但总有一些你未知的领域;根据所看见的来选择方向很简单,但什么是你所看不见的呢?只有当我们愿意问自己错失了什么,才能学习。这个问题会使你和你周围的人停下来思考。有些事情是显而易见的,但尖锐的问题能将隐情显明。不提问就意味着你认为这很可能是完美的,如果小心处理,就无大碍。在生活中,你常常痛苦地认识到现实远非如此。两样事情会使你半途而废:一、过度分析直至你惊恐退缩;二、分析不足,没有足智谋略就贸然行动。
