克服骄傲

不要自以为有智慧。(箴言3:7)

为了克服骄傲,你必须要:一、意识到自己的骄傲。本杰明·富兰克林(Benjamin Franklin)注意到:“我们天生的性情中没有哪一样比骄傲更难克服了。即使我能想象已经完全克服了它,我可能会为自己的谦逊感到骄傲。”在《不可或缺的人》(The Indispensable Man)一书中,萨克森·怀特·凯辛格(Saxon White Kessinger)写道:“当有一天你觉得自己离开之后,就会出现一个无法弥补的空缺,那么只要按照这些简单的指示来操作,你就知道它们会如何降卑你的心。用一个桶装满水,伸手进去直到手腕,抽手之后留下的空洞,就是你曾经占据的明证。”我们认为自己离开留下空缺,但却迅速地消失或得到填补了,那是令人羞愧的事。二、常常表达感激。保罗写道:“凡事谢恩。”(帖撒罗尼迦前书5:18)奥普拉·温芙瑞(Oprah Winfrey)提议:“每天写感恩日记。每晚写下当天你所感恩的五件事。这会改变你的人生。如果只想着没有的,你就永远都不满足。如果专注于拥有的,你就会看到世界是丰富的,就会拥有更多。”自私的人从来都不觉得自己得到了应得的。持续地表示感激能帮助你克服那类的骄傲。三、学会自嘲。有句谚语说:“自嘲的人有福了,因为他们永远都不会受冷落。”骄傲的人很少自嘲。以幽默自嘲,意味着骄傲并不是问题;如果是,那也是一个你决定要去对付的问题。
