培养耐心

“……苦难使人生忍耐。”(罗马书5:3)

随着年龄的增长,尽管余生渐短,我们反而变得更有耐心。这不是很有意思吗?为什么会这样呢?因为洞察力的改变!我们的问题并没有实质的改变,但洞察力却改变了。那些曾令我们烦恼的事情已经不再一样,因为经过长期生活的历练就会知道,上帝的恩典够我们用(参哥林多后书12:9)。一旦意识到那是无足轻重的——大多事情都是如此,你就可以说:“我经历过,也对付过!”不要烦恼,也不要抱怨,这根本不起作用,只会使我们失去喜乐。我们要学会赞美,像有一首圣歌所唱:“你信实何广大,我神(上帝)我天父。全无转动影儿藏在你心,你不改变,你慈爱永不转移。无始无终的神(上帝)施恩不尽。”(英文歌名为:Great Is Thy Faithfulness——译者注)当回顾生命中那些艰难时日,那些以为过不去的沟坎时,你能够像约瑟那样说:“从前你们是要加害于我,但上帝有祂的美意。”(创世记50:20)没错,洞察力培养人的耐心:“不但如此,我们在苦难中也欢喜,因为知道苦难使人生忍耐,忍耐生品格,品格生盼望。这种盼望不会落空,因为上帝的爱借着所赐给我们的圣灵已倾注在我们心中。”(罗马书5:3-5)因此,让上帝培养你的耐心。
