Managing Change

May 8, 2024

As leaders it is our responsibility to ensure our ministry is on course, achieving the Vision and Mission. Sometimes doing what we have always done is not enough, we need to change and adapt our practices or ministry structure to continue to be effective.  Managing any change needs to be done right. Change is a normal part of any organisation. As the ministry grows people’s roles change. For example I used to make websites. But after a while I realised that digital content was a whole role in itself, so we appointed a Digital Content Specialist role and I stripped all those bits from my weekly routine. There are lots of good articles and books written on managing change, but to get your thinking started I’d like to offer you this one.

The Lippitt Knoster Model for Managing Complex Change.

The Idea here is that there are 5 areas you need to consider and manage during change and if any one is missing you don’t achieve success. It is explained in this brief video below.

Understanding the process will help you be successful when it comes to leading your team through change. Read more on the Lippit Knoster Complex Change model here
