A powerful earthquake measuring 7.0 has struck Papua New Guinea early this morning. Only few details were immediately available but there is no threat of a tsunami.
The earthquake, which struck at 3:04 a.m. local time on Monday, was centered in Chambri Lake, about 37 kilometers east of Ambunti or 96 kilometers southwest of Wewak, the capital of East Sepik province.
Please pray for the safety of the people of Papua New Guinea especially those that may be directly affected by the earthquake.
