This is a picture of Siria taken after a Church Service in Gizo this morning. She is a passionate and faithful advocator of TWFT. She used to send copies of the TWFT to his brother, a Church Minister in Kiribati. I explained to her again this morning that Kiribati has its own edition now, she does not have to send copies to Kiribati anymore. She will start distributing some copies of TWFT tomorrow.
This is Pastor Charlie of United Church.
He is also one of the passionate and faithful reader of TWFT. Last Friday, he told me that more people are beginning to like TWFT. He also mentioned that he uses this devotional guide for his family devotion.
This is Simeon, he is a retired Senior fully certified radio technician. Simeon, is a passionate, faithful reader and advocator of TWFT and keen listener of Laef FM. He started in 2019. This is a picture of a short hand written note expressing his gratefulness.

Then and Now the 2024 Cover for The Word for Today
Grant Kennedy has amazing foresight when it comes to taking photos of people and scenery for future projects. Back in 2019 Grant was in Munda, Solomon Islands and a couple of the ladies were all dressed up with flowers for an event. So, with their permission, Grant grabbed his camera, and this is the photo that he used for the 2024 edition of The Word for Today.
Fast forward to 2024, our friend Dennis in Munda, caught up with Liza and gave her a copy of The Word for Today featuring her picture on the cover – in the spot where he took the photo!

This is an elderly pastor from Malango area in Guadalcanal whom I introduced UCBSI, it’s Vision, Mission & Strategy yesterday afternoon.
I took him to the studio to see for himself. He will introduce the Ministry, TWFT and Laef FM to his congregation this Sunday.

God knows what we really need!
This is a powerful testimony of a young woman that encountered God through The Word for Today, reminding us to be aware of how God may want to speak to us, either through His Word, through people, even through our situations.
GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD.
11 years ago, I lost my mother to an illness, and it took a few years after that struggling to accept it. Two years after her passing my father re-married, but my stepmom was(is) a loving, caring, kind and God-fearing woman, yet I could not fully accept her into my life. Up until last year I sought counselling and that helped me. I decided to put my foot down that it’s time to change my perspective of my stepmom.
As 2024 began, I told myself that this is the year to re-fresh and start all over again. Lo and behold on the 19th of January as I opened up the UCB Word for Today devotional booklet, what I read hit a spot in my life where I felt ministered to by God. He just read my mail! Bingo! It talked about blended family and how we children tend to be loyal to our previous parent and welcoming a new parent(step) may feel like an act of betrayal.
I looked up to heaven lol and said, “God you really know what I needed to hear and know how to get your message across to me today after all these years of struggling alone with this issue.” It has really opened my eyes and helped me in forming a better relationship with my stepmom. So thank you UCB for the booklet and the message you have for each day, as many a time the message for the day is really what I needed to hear from God in response to my prayers.
The Word for Today booklet has really impacted my life and helped me in my spiritual walk with the Lord.

Build a relationship with your children
‘Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.’ Psalm 12 7:1 NIV
How would you describe your relationship with your children? Strained? Exciting? Heart-breaking? Enjoyable? If you want a real eye-opener, ask them to describe their feelings about you and their home. But be warned, what they say might not be to your liking! And having a Christian home doesn’t necessarily exempt you. The old nature in us still rears its ugly head from time to time, and habits set in concrete can lead to broken communication.
When Biblical principles are ignored, the result is pain and strain in the family. Three illustrations come to mind:
1) Rebekah loved her son Jacob more than his brother Esau, so she used him to deceive their father, Isaac, and cause division in the family (see Genesis 27).
2) Eli, the high priest, let his boys run wild, and in the end, it cost him his life (see 1 Samuel 3-4).
3) David preached one thing but practised another, and his children (as kids will do) were more influenced by what he did than by what he said. (see 2 Samuel 11, 13, 15-16; 1 Kings 11). Nobody is immune; not David, not Rebekah, not Eli, not you! But evaluation is pointless if it leads to guilt without action.
So what should you do? Take time to get close to your children. Deal with the barriers between you. You can’t change anything unless you’re willing to acknowledge it, and sometimes change must begin with you. For example, does your attitude need adjusting? How about your priorities? What about the example you have been setting lately? Before you try to deal with your children, ask God to deal with you.
