The Impact of The Word for Today in Solomon Islands
The following Testimonies were sent to us from Coxwain showing the impact of The Word for today on people as they are encouraged to share it with family and friends…
This is a picture of Siria taken after a Church Service in Gizo this morning. She is a passionate and faithful advocator of TWFT. She used to send copies of the TWFT to his brother, a Church Minister in Kiribati. I explained to her again this morning that Kiribati has its own edition now, she does not have to send copies to Kiribati anymore. She will start distributing some copies of TWFT tomorrow.
This is Pastor Charlie of United Church.
He is also one of the passionate and faithful reader of TWFT. Last Friday, he told me that more people are beginning to like TWFT. He also mentioned that he uses this devotional guide for his family devotion.
This is Simeon, he is a retired Senior fully certified radio technician. Simeon, is a passionate, faithful reader and advocator of TWFT and keen listener of Laef FM. He started in 2019. This is a picture of a short hand written note expressing his gratefulness.

Then and Now the 2024 Cover for The Word for Today
Grant Kennedy has amazing foresight when it comes to taking photos of people and scenery for future projects. Back in 2019 Grant was in Munda, Solomon Islands and a couple of the ladies were all dressed up with flowers for an event. So, with their permission, Grant grabbed his camera, and this is the photo that he used for the 2024 edition of The Word for Today.
Fast forward to 2024, our friend Dennis in Munda, caught up with Liza and gave her a copy of The Word for Today featuring her picture on the cover – in the spot where he took the photo!
And here is a photo of Liza with her family.

Pastor from Malango connects with UCB Solomon Islands
Connecting with people, Churches and Organisations is one of the great opportunities that we get with The Word for Today devotion, it allows people from all walks of life to connect with God. We received this encouraging testimony from Coxwain when he connected with a local Pastor…
Greetings!
This is an elderly pastor from Malango area in Guadalcanal whom I introduced UCBSI, it’s Vision, Mission & Strategy yesterday afternoon.
I took him to the studio to see for himself. He will introduce the Ministry, TWFT and Laef FM to his congregation this Sunday.
Kind regards,

God knows what we really need!
This is a powerful testimony of a young woman that encountered God through The Word for Today, reminding us to be aware of how God may want to speak to us, either through His Word, through people, even through our situations.
GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD.
11 years ago, I lost my mother to an illness, and it took a few years after that struggling to accept it. Two years after her passing my father re-married, but my stepmom was(is) a loving, caring, kind and God-fearing woman, yet I could not fully accept her into my life. Up until last year I sought counselling and that helped me. I decided to put my foot down that it’s time to change my perspective of my stepmom.
As 2024 began, I told myself that this is the year to re-fresh and start all over again. Lo and behold on the 19th of January as I opened up the UCB Word for Today devotional booklet, what I read hit a spot in my life where I felt ministered to by God. He just read my mail! Bingo! It talked about blended family and how we children tend to be loyal to our previous parent and welcoming a new parent(step) may feel like an act of betrayal.
I looked up to heaven lol and said, “God you really know what I needed to hear and know how to get your message across to me today after all these years of struggling alone with this issue.” It has really opened my eyes and helped me in forming a better relationship with my stepmom. So thank you UCB for the booklet and the message you have for each day, as many a time the message for the day is really what I needed to hear from God in response to my prayers.
The Word for Today booklet has really impacted my life and helped me in my spiritual walk with the Lord.

Inspiration for you from…
Start memorising Scriptures
‘Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.’ Colossians 3:16 KJV
Before written languages were developed, memory was the only way to learn. In our day, memorising has got a bad name as ‘rote learning’. But memorising never makes your mind a duller place, just the opposite! When we have stored wonderful words in our memory, we will have a much richer inner life than someone who doesn’t.
Eva Hermann spent two years in a Nazi prison camp. She wrote how a young cellmate happened to recite the prayer of St Teresa: ‘Let naught trouble thee; let naught frighten thee; all things pass. God alone changeth not. Patience can do all things. Whoever has God, has everything. God alone sufficeth.’ When Eva saw how much this helped the girl, she began to repeat the prayer at the end of every day. Eva later wrote of how her time in prison was transformed by the words she had memorised.
This illustrates that the words we carry in our minds are available to transform any given moment. So when there is a verse of Scripture that speaks to you, stop and write it on a card. Put it on a mirror in your bathroom, on your smartphone or calendar, or in your car. If you’re an auditory learner, listen to the Scripture being read. If you’re a visual learner, light a candle and read these words: ‘God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all’ (1 John 1:5 NKJV).
When God’s Word is rehearsed, remembered, and repeated often, it’s like a stream of joy, peace, and strength that flows and carries your soul along with it.
