Moses Was Asked…

Jul 20, 2021

You’ll be successful if you faithfully do the best you can with what you have

Do what you can with what you’ve got!

This is probably the best piece of fundraising advice I’ve heard in a very long time.

Do what you can with what you’ve got!

Those of us at last week’s UCB Family Meeting heard Ian talk about the early years of Vision/UCB Australia. Facing huge debts and with seemingly no way forward, Ian did what we all do in desperate situations. He prayed. God’s answer was to ask Ian “what is in your hand?” (In Exodus 4:2 God asked Moses the same question). And that was the start of a long-term and ongoing answer.

So Ian did what he could—with what he had.

And really that is the difference between a successful ministry (or business) and struggling one.

Anyone can point out all the reasons why you can’t do something – but it takes a leader to make things happen.

So my encouragement to you today with your fundraising is to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Do what you can with what you’ve got.

And remember one of the things all UCB’s affiliates have ‘got’ is the ongoing offer of help and advice from UCB Asia Pacific.

You gotta Ask!

Ok, that’s out in the open. 😊 If you want to get donations for your ministry, you have to ask. I’ll come back to this in just a mo, but first it is important to remember that the Ask is only Step 1 in a 3-step process. Step 1 – Ask Step 2 – Thank Step 3 – Report You...
